Submitted by Alexander Hollins on Tue, 02/15/2011 - 11:24amHello all. Alexander here. I currently do a pair of stories, phoenix 2125 and Reflections of the Shadow : A Leader of Men. Both stories are hosted on DreamFantastic.com . Dreamfantastic is the latest incarnation of what used to be called The Leaking Pen, basically an attempt to have a central place for people to host their fiction, similar to how Keenspace and Keenspot was for webcomics for a long time. Of course, the majority of writers I've gotten onboard other than myself never ended up actually posting and updating. Like herding cats, we writers!

Saying Hello and such
Submitted by AdenPenn on Mon, 02/07/2011 - 8:37amHello all, my name is Aden. I am quite new to this whole idea of weblit. Not sure if I am doing it right, but I really wanted to do it. Now that I have gotten it started, I want to see if I can get a readership going.
(plus I am looking forward to find things to read too)
There is only one post up so far but I guess this is a good time to put up the link. http://www.adenpenn.com is the home of Blood And Entropy which is a non linear urban fantasy serial about a death mage.
I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone, and basking in this exciting writing world.

Lurker going public!
Submitted by EllipsisB on Thu, 02/03/2011 - 12:05amHi everyone!
I've been writing a little webserial for a while, and so far the novelty of playing with PHP and writing regularly sometime other than NaNoWriMo has kept me pretty well amused. I've lurked on WebLit.us and Webfiction Guide for about six months now, but I thought it was about time I stepped up and let myself be counted.

April 1st idea
Submitted by Lyn Thorne-Alder on Wed, 02/02/2011 - 3:30pmI was thinking today of the common complaint that most of our most active readers are, well, each other.
Well, why not use that?
When I started reading web-comics, they would often, on April Fool's day, draw each other's strips in a sort of round robin.
Why not do that with weblit? Enough of us read each others' work that it wouldn't be that hard to write a guest post in their setting.

Rose and Bay Awards
Submitted by Eseme on Wed, 01/26/2011 - 8:33pmThe Rose and Bay Awards are specifically for crowdfunded projects, and the people who support them. Many project types are covered, including Fiction and Poetry (separate categories).
Here's the info:
Did you have any active crowdfunding projects in 2010?
If you had a fiction project, one of your readers can nominate it for a Rose and Bay Award in the Fiction category. You can also nominate your own favorite stories - three nominations per person (and if something you like has been nominated there is no need to second it - you get to nominate one more project).

Resetting Password Issues
Submitted by M.E.Traylor on Mon, 01/24/2011 - 3:15pmI've been having trouble resetting my password. At first I thought it was just a faulty memory and switching back and forth between computers, and then it didn't come up because I would stay logged in. I've reset it three or four times in a row now, and I keep thinking 'I know I typed it exactly like this.' When I fill in the password fields they match and I don't receive any notification that my password is too long (which I've had trouble with before).

To Crosspost or not to Crosspost?
Submitted by M.E.Traylor on Sun, 01/23/2011 - 2:38pmI've seen that some weblit authors are crossposting content, sometimes the full content, sometimes teasers, particularly at LJ. How do people feel about crossposting? Is it worth it, redundant? Some other crossposting possibilities seem to be fictionpress.com and writing.com, but I don't really know anything about those communities.
Opinions, experiences?

Guts and Sass launch
Submitted by M.E.Traylor on Fri, 01/21/2011 - 7:45pmHey all,
I've been hanging around, in general stealing promotion and website tidbits from people who have been doing this longer than I have.
I have finally got my website doing everything I want it to do. I'm going to continue tweaking it as I put up the first three installments before I do an ad launch. I am both excited and terrified. (Keep wondering: Am I out of my mind?)
I was wondering if anyone interested could hop over and give it a look-see to see how it feels and give any suggestions they might have.
You can find it at: metraylor.com.

Font and Type Override
Submitted by M.E.Traylor on Sun, 01/16/2011 - 9:02amI am just full of technical questions today.
Does anyone know how to override default fonts and typefaces for Drupal themes? Is it theme dependent? I tried using html with size and font values, but nothing happened, and it overrode the italics tags I already had. Being able to use multiple fonts in a piece is important to the function of the story because I'm using different fonts to distinguish different languages.
Any suggestions or experiences with this?
Thanks everyone!
