A.M. Harte's Cafe Wednesday Interview Series
Hi all, I just wanted to alert you to a cool method of cross-promotion that A.M. Harte of "Above Ground" has been doing -- writer interviews! The questions are gentle and the promotion of both interviewer and interviewee is done intelligently and with much discussion fostered.
I'm kinda mad I didn't think about interviews myself.
Interviews are great, and very productive because they foment publicity for both parties involved. (The writers posting the "hey look at me" stuff all over aids the interviewer and interviewer posting "hey come see my interview blog" flashes the writers' names.)
Running those roles together like this woman has is really sharp.
There's another girl I know who's just started doing interviews of weblitters and ebookers and such. She's doing a pretty good job so far. I think she's picking her own victims so far, but anybody hot to get interviewed could contact her, I guess.

One thing I liked from her interveiw with the "Street of Eyes" guy was the bit about giving away pdf versions of each chapter. Great idea.
I also liked his emphasis on the emportance of artwork as an initital hook. I'm seeing a lot of new work on WFG that's just the default theme from Drupal or WP or something. Hard to come up with reasons to start reading.
OMG I've been mentioned?!
"the questions are gentle"? Clearly I should be tougher. And, you know, I never thought about the fact that I was promoting myself with the interviews. They're just really fun to do for me, and it lets me get to know authors I like a little better!
Hahaha, I meant the questions aren't evil and baiting, in order to blackmail us into creating a new world order with you as Queen.
I kinda wonder how I can jump on this pimp wagon.
But I want to be Queen of a new world order!!
I'm still hoping to become King of a new world disorder.
@Karen - thanks for the list! I tend to tailor questions for each person, but could use your ideas as back up if I'm stuck.
It was my turn to be outed.. er... I mean interviewed by amharte this week on Cafe Wednesday.
I really enjoyed the experience and of course weblit came up a couple of times
Najela left a comment (thank you Najela) and I was wondering if anyone else here had a chance to read the interview?
I have the opportunity to do a couple more in the next few weeks and I was wondering if I came across OK.
Of course you came across okay! Don't be silly.

Being interviewed was a LOT of fun. Made me think of things I hadn't before, too. This is a really neat way of getting to know writers around the community.
The Peacock King - Is a mere servant a match for the ruler of half the known world? Probably not.
