Musings and greetings

Since this is both introductions and self-promotion, I figured I'd come here and say hello.

I am terrible at self-promotion, possibly because I feel like I'm leaving everyone else out, and while I'm a writer, I loathe talking about myself. But here we go.

People may already recognize me by now, although I'm probably one of the more quiet writers, I read a lot of other people's work and hang out in similar places. My body of work right now is a self-published chap book series set on Mill Avenue in Tempe, Arizona; and a geeky occult styled detective work set at Arizona State University. Mill Avenue Vexations http://www.millvexations.com and Black Hat Magick http://www.blackhatmagick.com respectively.

I enjoy contemporary fantasy mostly but I have a strong taste for steampunk. In fact, now that I've written my first cyberpunk novelette (unpublished) I am writing notes for my first steampunk novel. We'll have to see where that one goes. The current weblit steampunk I am reading -- and I recommend it wholly -- is Arcadia Snips and the Steamwork Consortium by Robert C. Rodgers.

I've spent most of my life promoting from street level (Mill Ave) and still make strange forays into this existence on the web. I am certainly always looking for more ideas and places to join in with other weblit authors. Found another one right here, and glad to see it.

I've suddenly found myself unemployed, so while seeking gainful employment, I am working on my next new projects with gusto. We'll see where they take me, I am hoping good places.

I have read both of Kyt's works (as well as met him in person last summer) and I highly recommend his stories. They are quite engaging, and he himself is a gentleman and a scholar of the highest order.

Welcome, Kytsyne! And good luck!

Alan, hey there! I am proud to have met thee and made thy acquaintance. It is the strange umbrage of web writing that most of us are so far away from one another we can't exactly shake hands or catch a meal readily.

Clare, thanks for the luck. The way that the wind blows even in our little competitive circle can be sometimes harsh on the audience and viwership. But we'll see what happens in the future.

Already putting words into my next serial, with an eye on Vexations of course (my forever-project), and I am looking into trying to bring more writers together for a video collab. If anyone is interested.
